Our Curriculum:

At Northbrook Preschool, we believe that children learn through play. We create a warm environment that stimulates creativity and a positive self-image for each child.

Our program provides both structure and freedom which allows children to explore, develop, and grow emotionally, socially, physically, and intellectually.

We believe that the early years are the most important for learning, loving, and gaining trust.

Northbrook Preschool's curriculum follows the State of Michigan’s Early Childhood Standards and provides a safe, nurturing environment where your child will:

Receive individualized attention from approachable and qualified teachers in a class with a pupil/staff ratio of 6:1.
Develop feelings of success and self-worth.
Obtain a solid foundation of pre-reading and math readiness skills necessary for kindergarten.
Learn to get along with others.
Experience activities that will create an excitement for learning.

We have a wonderful school layout. Children will be able to play in three different rooms of their choice, ART ROOM, BLOCK ROOM, and QUIET ROOM.

EACH DAY OFFERS A BALANCE OF LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES

ART ROOM

Play-dough, sand/water table, painting, craft projects and more are offered in our Art Room.

BLOCK ROOM

Dress-up, imaginative play, block-building and gross motor skills are encouraged in the Block Room.

QUIET ROOM

Activities in the Quiet Room provide opportunities for story-telling, puzzle building, game playing, and development of cognitive and fine-motor-skills.

SELF-DIRECTED PLAY

A part of each day is spent in self-directed play, when the children may choose to visit all of our three rooms for a variety of play experiences.
